As you can see ...

... we were riding the Metrolink earlier today. Brendan loves trains, so we took the Metrolink downtown, and then turned around and rode it right back. A total of six bucks for the family roundtrip, and a pleasant time guaranteed for all. Public transportation at its best.

Last night, we had a great time at the Billiken basketball game. What's a Billiken? According to Brendan, it's a "FUNNY looking piggy!" One of the cheerleaders thought Brendan was cute, so she gave him a souvenir basketball. This led me to the realization that I've crossed the threshold from hoping that the cheerleaders think I'm cute, to hoping that the cheerleaders will think my kids are cute. Sigh.

This was taken at Hayden's first day of school at Clayton Child Center, on February 9, 2005.

Mom was busy on Saturday, and I figured that I had enough hours under my belt to try a solo outing, so we headed to the zoo. This was taken outside the Penguin and Puffin house.

This is Hayden doing his impersonation of the Puss-n-Boots from Shrek II.

This is Brendan's try at striking a cute pose like Hayden.

This is either Bob and Doug Macenzie, or Brendan and Hayden posing in front of the elephant statue.

This picture isn't all that exciting, except for the fact that it was taken by Brendan. He picked up the camera, turned it on, and took a picture of Hayden. Not bad for a 2 1/2 year old.

This is really cool. Christine and I got PalmPilot cell phones that have cameras built in. I took this photo and posted this message using only my phone.

Thanks to Lou and Mary Kruger for Hayden's baby shoes. They turned out great!

Here's Brendan running around in a Superman outfit with a strainer on his head. Just think ... in 15 years or so, we'll pay thousands of dollars a year for the privilege of allowing him to do exactly the same thing at a fraternity party.

Poster children for low carb diets everywhere. 

Looks like they've been hanging out together for years. Of course, right after this, they were attempting to beat each other's brains out with the miniature hockey sticks the grandparents gave them. Thanks, grandparents. 

We took away the hockey sticks. They smiled. We took this picture. They proceeded to attempt to beat each other's brains out with the plastic baseball bats that the grandparents gave them. Are we detecting a trend?

Our lesson for today:

1. Wearing chili is as important as eating chili, when you're 20 months old.
2. Jet lag means that sleep can strike at any time, without warning.
3. Digital cameras are a wonderful thing.

Yeah, I know I'm adorable.
